Is There a Thief in Your House by John Di Lemme

A thief is defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary as one that steals especially stealthily (slow & deliberate) or secretly.  Is there a thief in your house?  I know that you are probably saying to yourself, “Of course, there isn’t a thief in my house”.  But are you really sure about that?

 

When I ask you if there is a thief in your house, I don’t really mean your physical house.  I am referring to your life in general.  Now, grab a piece of paper and write down everyone in your close social network.  These people are your friends, colleagues, business partners, etc.  Take a good look at that list and understand that you are entrusting your Why in life (your ultimate purpose) to all of these people.  That’s right…these people are a determining factor in the actual achievement of your Why in life.  How does that feel?  If you are confident in your associations, then simply stop reading this article.  BUT if there is any doubt in your mind that someone you’ve listed could ultimately destroy your Why then keep on reading!

A thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy your dream for not only you but also your family.  How?  A thief will slowly gain your trust and many times the trust of your family and friends.  Then, the thief begins to take cowardly action steps that slightly interfere with your progression towards the achievement of your Why.  Before you know it, you wake up one day and that person that you trusted has stolen your chances of ever achieving your Why in life.  How does that make you feel?  I’m sure that you are truly fired up at the thought of anyone stealing from you and your family!

 

So, how do you stop the thief?  You DECLARE that you and only you will decide if you succeed or fail in life.  You simply can’t allow the thief to step foot in your “house”.  Just like you have an alarm on your car, you must have a powerful alarm on your Why that violently sounds off when the thief is trying to slither into your life like a snake.  You must believe that you possess the power to stomp that snake and stop him/her from stealing your Why!

I don’t want to make you paranoid about everyone around you.  I just want to make you aware that sometimes people that we trust are in disguise.  Often, these people truly do care about us but become infected with greed and jealously, which makes them become our worst enemy. 

Remember, you must guard your Why and protect it from the thief.  If you don’t, then no one will.

The Deadliest Catch by John Di Lemme

Statistics show that 98% of people watch between three to five hours of TV per day. Some people even have to fall asleep while watching TV, which is deadly to your spirit especially if it’s the news or some other type of negative program.  Many of you know my feelings about television.  I believe it is a complete waste of time. 
 

However, there is one show that I do watch called The Deadliest Catch. I recommend this show for one reason and one reason only...To see the price people are willing to pay, because there is a financial reward at the end of the incredible deadly journey.

The Deadliest Catch is about crab fishermen in the Bering Sea of Alaska. They battle...

- Tremendous Ocean Waves

- Below Freezing Temperatures

- 18 to 24 Hour Work Shifts

- Sleep Deprivation

- Deadly Work Conditions

The physical price that these men will pay is incredible, because they know there is potential to earn a significant monetary reward at the end of the crab fishing season.

As for the rest of us, we are in a challenging success race on a daily basis. I say race because you start working towards your success goal, initiate it everyday and focus on the finish line.  The sad statistic is that 97% of people die mentally and sometimes physically along the way and simply give up on their dreams.  The challenge is your mental stress that drags you down.  Most of you won't pay this physical and emotional price to get through that.
 

In The Deadliest Catch, they pay the physical and mental price for just one reward at the end of a very long hard season. The reason that it is called The Deadliest Catch is because every season men die.  Yes, lives are lost in the pursuit of a reward.  That's right, every year men lose their lives in the crab fishing season either due to the cold weather, ice storms or falling overboard.

Yet in the success game, many people will not pay the price of success, because of fear and indecision.  That’s why most people end up dead or dead broke by the age of sixty-five. Guess what?  You will not physically die from fear or indecision.  The things that are holding you back from success will not physically kill you.

Here’s something for you to think about…

Why are the men on The Deadliest Catch willing to pay the price over the short period of time during crab fishing season for a financial reward, but most people in the success arena are not willing to pay the price over a long period of time for freedom in every area of their life?

I challenge you to watch The Deadliest Catch and witness the life threatening price that these men pay.  Then ask yourself…“Am I willing to pay the price mentally and physically to achieve my Why in life?”

I believe you are.  Go for it!  Commit to it!  Live your dream!  Realize that you are never going to die, because of the mental challenges you may face on your success journey.  I can honestly say that I would probably die within the first twenty-four hours on a crab boat yet for the last sixteen years I have been stretching and growing in success process and haven’t broken a bone or suffered an injury.

The Most Important Day of Your Life by John Di Lemme

          As life goes on day by day, we all experience challenging days and some really magnificent days, but there’s one day in particular that is more important than any other day of your life.  The most important day of your life is your birthday. 

Why?  At birth, we all start out the same.  We are all on equal playing ground.  Yes, I know we’re all born into different external circumstances, but your birth certificate gives you the right to grow up and become a Champion.  Your birth certificate is your Certificate of Life.  Unlike a college degree, you automatically earn your Certificate of Life when you exit the womb.  No questions asked . . . you are destined for success.

In order for you to have a life-changing testimonial about crossing your goal line, you must first pass a major test. The Windshield of Your Life vs. The Rearview Mirror

The majority of people drive a car or have at least been in a car so you can envision this comparison.  The rear view mirror is very small, and typically you spend less than five percent of your driving time looking behind you.  However, your windshield is huge, because you must have clarity and visibility in front of you to be able to drive your car and arrive at your destination safely.  The number one rule of driving is to always keep your eyes on the road, and a clear windshield is extremely important. 
 

What does this have to do with success? I’m going to answer that question with a serious question for you. Are you more focused on what lies behind you in your rear view mirror or what is ahead of you as you stare out the windshield of your life?  One of the most common excuses that I hear is how a person’s past is preventing them from being successful.  They continue to look back at their past and dwell on things that happened long ago.  It’s as if they are driving a car and looking back in their rear view mirror instead of focusing on what’s ahead of them.  They continue to run off the road, hit the guard rails and crash into adversity.  Many people introduce themselves to me and immediately say things like “I am a recovering alcoholic…I am a sexual abuse victim…I am learning disabled…I am divorced.”  It’s time for you to stop allowing your past or something that has happened to you in the past dictate who you are in life.  Don’t get me wrong.  I’m not undermining what horrible things might have occurred in your life, but I refuse to allow you to believe that those things make up who you are as a person.

 

It’s time for you to stop looking in the rear view mirror and focus on the road ahead of you.  If you do this, then you won’t be continually questioning what impact your past has on your ability to achieve success.  Your mental mindset will focus on the clear windshield ahead of you and see a road of endless possibilities.

It seems like everywhere I go I hear things like...“I used to be healthy. I used to be in great shape. I used to give money away. I used to tithe. I used to go to church. I used to listen to motivational material. I used to be excited about life.”  This is simply a person’s way of reflecting back on their past when times were good and using it as an excuse on why they are failing now. 

Instead of talking about the good ol’ days and how you used to be, start speaking words of empowerment about who you believe that you are today.  Say these affirmations out loud:

I am a giver!

I am listening to inspirational material!

I am prosperous in every area of my life!

I am surrounded by people that love me!

I am a champion!

Now, doesn’t that sound better than moaning and groaning about what you used to be.  Even if you aren’t prosperous in every area of your life, speak the words out loud and start believing that’s who you are.  Don’t let your past steal your dreams of becoming who you want to be in life.

Let me give you another example.  Imagine getting into your car, fastening your seatbelt and preparing to go to the grocery store.  Now, imagine that you look up and your rear view mirror is the size of your windshield and the windshield is the size of your rear view mirror.  You suddenly realize that you can’t even get out of your parking spot even to travel a few miles to the grocery store.  You are unable to reach your destination, because the massive rear view mirror (your past) is making it impossible for you to focus on the tiny windshield to see road in front of you (your future).

It’s time for you to accept challenge number two.  I want you to commit to stop looking in your rear view mirror and start focusing on what lies ahead of you.  Isn’t it refreshing to know that your past doesn’t define who you are today?  I also want you to commit to saying who you are instead of what you used to be.  Write out your affirmations and read them out loud every day until you believe that you are who you say you are.

We’ve all heard the term "CEO" for Chief Executive Officer or COO for Chief Operating Officer or maybe CFO for Chief Financial Officer. Yes, those are all titles that are typically used simply to give someone a feeling of significance or to define a person’s status in a corporate pyramid.  I’m here to tell you that those titles are a waste of time.  You don’t need a title to prove who you are or to put limitations on your strengths or to confine you to societal opinions.

The most important title that all entrepreneurs, business people, networkers, etc. must possess is “SWE”. What does that mean?  It’s simple…Share With Excitement. The key to financial freedom and life success is being committed to the daily, focused, action of sharing with excitement. Let’s think about the word sharing for a minute.  Many people say, “I don’t like to sell. I’m not into sales”. That is one objection that really irritates me, because each and every day you share something that you are excited about or something you exciting that you’ve heard from someone else. That’s what selling is about. In its deep core roots, selling is simply sharing.

However, you must be committed to something you are excited about sharing. That’s why many people go broke when they take jobs that involve selling or marketing a product that they simply don’t like or believe in.  How can you become successful trying to push a product or service that you don’t believe in?  This is very different than selling a product or service that you love.  When someone is excited about something, he can not keep his mouth shut. The excitement just pours out of his mouth.  It’s easy for him to sell, because he’s simply sharing his passion about something that he believes in with all of his heart.

Are you an SWE?  Are you are sharing with excitement?  When you commit to being a SWE, your entire future will unfold at such a rapid pace.  People will say things like “Where did it come from? How did you produce that kind of income? How did you earn your financial freedom? I though you were in sales.”  It’s not your sales position that defines you or your success.  If you are committed to sharing with excitement, nothing can stop you from achieving your Why in life.  It’s your responsibility to search around for a business you can be excited about.  Don’t take a job or try to market something that you know from the beginning that you dislike?  It is your right to be excited about your business!

Ask your coach for references so that you can see if he has helped others implement strategies that have led to success.


Healthy: Yes, that’s right. A coach should lead a healthy, happy life. You shouldn’t have to hear about how bad his day was or how much he doesn’t get along with his wife. You want a coach that has a balanced lifestyle that enables him to help you with your obstacles and not concentrate on his own issues. These are just a few things to consider when looking for that right coach that will assist you in achieving your “Why” in life. I challenge you to set a goal of hiring a personal coach, but be sure to find the right one for you!
