JOHN DI LEMME ON TEAR UP YOUR “TO DO” LISTS!

Most of you have those tedious “To Do” list that you create in an effort to get more things done in your day. But let’s take time to really look at your “To Do” list. The actual words “To Do” have a negative connotation, and when you look at that list on a daily basis you think to yourself, “I MUST get this stuff done!”. It’s like meeting a deadline on a daily basis. You absolutely dread it! You should just call it your “To Don’t” list, because it’s not something that you even look forward to doing. So, what kinds of things are on these “To Do” list?

                       1) Go to the gym

2) Take the kids to baseball practice

3) Make (3) new contacts for my business

4) Pick-up the laundry

5) Coaching session w/John Di Lemme

6) Tele-Class at 8:30pm

7) Book flights for upcoming seminar

That’s right, this is an example of the infamous “To Do” list that you write out every day, and you drive yourself crazy trying to get everything done. Then at the end of the day, you wad up your list and throw it away. No matter if you finished everything or not. Does this make sense? No. Why should you torture yourself by making a list of things that will ultimately hang over your head all day long. Plus, most of the time the things on your “To Do” list are important to you and you should feel a sense of accomplishment after you complete them. I know that you are saying to yourself, “John, I have to write things down or I won’t do them, and these things are important.” I agree with you 100%, but there is another way...something you won’t hate and resent doing on a daily basis. You must make this list important to you and feel good about yourself when you complete it or even most of it. Develop a Champion Checklist! Doesn’t that sound better and more powerful? How would you feel at the end of your day if you accomplished the majority of things on your “Champion Checklist”? Here’s another tip. Don’t throw it away day after day after day. Keep your Champion Checklist in a journal or simply a notebook. This will allow you to look back at your lists at the end of the week and see all of the things that you achieved. On the other hand, it will also act as your guide to things that you can do better such as time management. My challenge for you today is to commit to tearing up your “To Do” list and replace it with a “Champion Checklist”. Will you do it or will you continue to begin everyday staring at a list that haunts you all day long? It’s up to you! This simple change will produce drastic results for you.

JOHN DI LEMME ON “THE POWER OF A DREAM”

I recently spoke to a Youth Leadership Group, and I was deeply inspired listening to the dreams that the teenagers had for the future. While I was presenting, I felt the group of teenagers begin to realize that it is ok to dream and be proud of what you have done in your life and where you want to go in life. As adults, we need to realize that the power of a dream will enable you to achieve whatever your ultimate “WHY” in life is. By the age 25, most people lose all of their dreams and fall into a rut. From the age 25-65, people generally go back and forth to work and say to themselves,” I wish...if only I could have...if only I knew then what I know now,” and numerous other lamentations as to why they do not feel fulfilled in life. The key in life to feeling fulfilled is to simply listen to your inner spirit and make your daily work in life something that you love to do and will help you achieve your DREAMS! The key word in that sentence is DREAMS! Too many people when asked, “Where do you see yourself 2-5 years from now” give the answer, “Just let me make it to this weekend.” The underlying reason that they don’t know where they are going to be is because they have no dreams. This can be extremely frightening! Each of the teenagers that I spoke to this week has dreams for their life and where they see themselves in the future. As a professional speaker and business coach, my ultimate outcome is to empower people to find their WHY in life -- to catapult them to attain their dreams in life. I also spoke to the group about how important it is to be around a mastermind team, which will push you on and let you know it is awesome you have a dream. As an overall population, over 95% of adults have no mastermind team but they have group of so-called friends, who will tell every reason why they should never try to win and to just accept their life. You need to stop right now and take a personal inventory of your life and ask yourself three life-changing questions:

1) WHAT is my WHY in LIFE!!! (Why I am getting up each and every day?)

2) WHO is my Mastermind Team?

3) WHERE do I see myself 2-5 years from now?

When you answer these questions you need to be honest with yourself and tell yourself the truth because the truth shall set you FREE! The key to living a fulfilled life is waking up each day with a driving desire to achieve your “WHY”. The key to winning in life is to be part of a winning team and realize life decisions are challenging but very beneficial. Bring your Dreams back to life!

The definition of the word incentive is something that incites or is likely to incite to determination or action. As you are paying the price to live your dream in life, you need to have something to incite you to take action. Basically, you need to have a strong enough “WHY” in order to make it through all you will experience as you build your dream. As we know 95% of people die with their music still playing in them, because they never had a dream strong enough or large enough to move them through the hurdles, which were thrown their way by every dream stealer that they met as they were paying the price. As you focus on your incentive, you will forge through all of the dream stealing negativity that you will encounter. I still remember when everyone told me –“John, you are crazy, just get a job” and “who do you think you are thinking you can build the largest motivational business ever”. These are just a few negative remarks that I received as I focused on my incentive. I never gave up! I just remained focus on the ultimate outcome as I forged forward. You need to internalize your incentive and see it everyday. Close your eyes, see it and say to yourself, “I am a successful entrepreneur, I have no debt, I spend quality time with my family.” See it - feel it - feed your spirit every minute knowing you will and can do it! JOHN DI LEMME ON “PREJUDGING WILL COST YOU YOUR BUSINESS”

You know when you want to turn your car on, you have to put the key in the ignition, put the car in drive, press the gas and go. Nothing changes...You press the gas, You hit the brake, You stop at red lights, You forge forward...nothing changes! You stay consistent, because you can’t change your car based upon the road your on. You can’t prejudge and say “I’m not going to bring my shocks today, because I don’t need them on this particular road, or I don’t need my blinker, because I’m only going to go straight.” I live in Florida, where everything is straight and flat, but I still can’t say “I don’t need my blinkers, shocks or brakes.” I can’t do that...I can’t pre-judge my path...it’s an impossible feat! What does this have to do with becoming a successful business builder? Simply, STOP Prejudging! Again, STOP Prejudging. 95% of people in direct sales and marketing fail, and here’s the reason why. They “Prejudge” their Prospects and change their presentations to better fit that particular prospect. Here’s an example: “Oh, he’s just a 24 year old stuttering kid that will never make it in the industry so I’ll just change the presentation and make it a little shorter. No need to waste my time.” On the flip side of that, most people will say this to themselves: “I’m sitting down with a CEO of a company today so I’ve got to take out the part on money, because he has plenty.” It doesn’t matter who your prospect is...You cannot prejudge him/her and change your presentation! As you know that 24 year old stutterer was me, and I would have earned you seven figures if you wouldn’t have prejudged me. The challenge for most business builders is prejudging their prospects based on his/her credentials, looks, past, etc. I believe each and every person is a Miracle...I believe every single business builder should be a seven figure earner if they choose to be. DO NOT PREJUDGE! Show your plan and your business to each prospect the very same way. Don’t change it for anyone! It’s the same way you drive your car. You always bring your blinker, you shocks, your brakes...every time you drive your car! You can’t prejudge conditions no matter the circumstance. Never, ever prejudge, and I guarantee you that you will become a seven figure earner and build a powerhouse business.

John Di Lemme on Paying The Price

Time and time again, we hear that there is a price that must be paid for any achievement in life of great value. I know that everyone reading this will eventually have to deal with a major hurdle in your journey to success, and you will need to know there is a price to pay. Therefore, my compilation of articles over the next five articles could be life changing for you. This article I am going to focus on the first letter in the word price, “P”, which stands for persistence. Persistence is defined by Webster’s Dictionary as “to go on resolutely or stubbornly in spite of difficulties”. The #1 word here to internalize in your spirit is the word “go”! Go means to keep on keeping on when everyone else and even you may say to yourself - What am I doing? When you say something like that to yourself remember this quote “And let us not grow weary while doing good for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart”. The key word to internalize from this citation is “reap”. Most people have big dreams and goals, but when it is time to be persistent and go on towards reaping their harvest ninety-five percent of these big dreamers fail to pay the price. There are thousands of people who say they want to win in life and be the best they can be for God, their family and themselves! But and this is the big BUT, when the road to success gets a little tough most of these same people give up, quit or make an excuse like “it just wasn’t for me”. I would rather not go on and just focus on what I wish to reap from my work than fall victim to the mindset of “well, it just was not meant for me”! The first letter “P” in price means to expect that you will be in a situation where it would much easier to quit than to go on and be persistent to win. Today, you need to commit to your goal and say – I know there is a price I am going to pay - I expect it -I accept the challenge - I will win -I will pay the price and put myself into that 5% ratio of people who pay the price to fulfill their ultimate Dream! Remember, you must be persistent as you pay the PRICE to achieve your Why!

I am often approached by people that just signed into a home-based networking business,

which I know is one of the most effective entrepreneurial methods for an average person to

achieve true financial success. My entire conversation with these individuals is based on the

simple theme of working your plan and committing long-term with no thought of ever

quitting until the achievement of your ultimate outcome.

What is the #1 point that you should stress to someone who decides to become your fellow

teammate and business partner? I would definitely say that it is “erase the following words

from your vocabulary: I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME.” Everyone has the same 24 hours in a

day! Over the next 7 days, try keeping a detailed log of where you invest your time. This log

will actually show you where you spend your time wisely and where you waste time.

Most people actually waste more time than they think they do on frivolous activities.

Time is the universal currency, which God blesses everyone with. However, it is those who

choose to invest time wisely that succeed. Every winner in life could have easily said, “Well

you know it sounds great, but I do not have the time to do anything.” You need to look deep

into your spirit and realize that time is an incredible gift and you need to cherish the gift by

investing it very effectively.

The overall attitude of most people these days is that everything

is so hard for them but easier for everyone else. There is a very thin line between winning and

losing, and it all begins with setting your mind to the correct channel - channel W for winning

-- no matter whatever anyone else says or thinks. I know you can achieve all of your dreams in

life if you just erase from your vocabulary, “I do not have the time.”

5 + 5 = Your Dream

I know you're thinking...Okay John, 5+5 does not equal 5 so let me please explain. Let’s start with a question. How many times have you heard that you need to have a “long term” goal and be focused for the entire length of that “long term”? In this article, I am going to focus on a 5 year goal and explain how you will know if you are truly on track to achieve your 5 year goal in life. In the equation, the answer 5 is your five-year goal and the 5+5 is the underlying secret to attaining that goal. As I speak with numerous people on a daily basis, I hear their frustration about their goals that they’ve set and the lack of progress that they have made. As I say, “A mountain is built one pebble at a time and climbed one step at a time.”
The first “5” in the equation represents the 5 people that you call your friends, associates, etc. I suggest that you make a list of the 5 people that you associate with on a regular basis, and then take a good look at it to see if they either have goals similar to yours or are progressing towards the achievement of a goal similar to your 5-year vision. A major key to unlock the secret to your future is to be 110% conscious of the fact that you will ultimately become who you associate with. For example, if you have dreams of becoming healthy and wealthy and your as-
sociates are overweight smokers that complain about working one-minute overtime, then I can predict the odds of you being healthy and wealthy are slim to none. Millions of people never attain their dreams, because their “friends” serve as “cement shoes” as they walk towards their goals in life. As I set my goals, I surround myself with people who are on the same path in life that I am on. If you truly internalize this same mindset, then you can achieve your goals in life.

The second “5” in the equation is to take a personal inventory of the last 5 books that you have read or CDs that you have listened to. Just for fun, the next time one of your friends complains about something, ask them what were the last 5 books that they have read or CDs they have listened to. You will get one of two answers: I do not remember or I do not have the time to read. Your last 5 books that you read will determine where your focus or direction is in life. The average person reads 1 book a year after high school, which is the #1 reason why 97% of people are “dead broke at age 65”. Even the greatest computer in the world needs to be programmed in order to perform its functions. We are all designed for greatness, but we need to be conscious of our associations and
what we are reading or listening to on a daily basis will decide the level of greatness that we all reach. Decide today to focus on your 5 year goal and realize that your 5 friends and the 5 books/cd’s that you listen to will determine if you hit your Why or not. Success is simple, but not easy because it takes the ability to grow, stretch, search and learn to enjoy everyday as you progress towards your 5-year goal. 5 + 5 = 5, give it a try and let me know if it works for you.
